Research Interest

Our research group interested in skeletal muscle which is the major tissue in the body. Skeletal muscle has highly plasticity in responses to numerous conditions, i.e., spontaneous regeneration after injury, hypertrophy after mechanical overload, atrophy after disuse/aging, and adaption in responses to exercise. Hence, understanding skeletal muscle physiology is the enormous field of research.

Muscle Physiology Research

The current area of skeletal muscle physiology research covers the wide range of investigations in cell culture and animal models. Regulation of skeletal muscle growth and adaptations in responses to anabolic growth factor, hormone, and myokine are primary research investigation. Additionally, research related to skeletal muscle plasticity (i.e., regeneration and atrophy) in animal models are conducted to investigate the underlying mechanisms and explore the potential non-pharmaceutical/pharmaceutical interventions to improve regenerative process and prevention of muscle atrophy.

Exercise Physiology Research

An intervention to enhance exercise performance and skeletal muscle recovery after exercise-induced muscle damage in human is the current research focus. In addition, the associations of physiological responses obtained from field and laboratory tests on an official match play performance in the professional futsal players has been investigated.
