Insulin resistance of skeletal muscle glucose transport frequently occurs with glucose intolerance, hyperinsulinemia, dyslipidemia, essential hypertension, and central obesity. These multifaceted conditions are known as insulin resistance syndrome, a major risk factor of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Our laboratory has focused on studies in the following research areas:

Mechanisms of exercise training on metabolic adaptions in skeletal muscle and liver tissues
Effectiveness of nutraceutical compounds for the treatment of insulin resistance syndrome
